Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Sandeep Arya
He made the remark in an interview granted to Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper on the occasion of New Year 2025, during which he also reviewed the development of Vietnam's economy and the remaining room for cooperation between Vietnam and India in the coming time.
The ambassador praised Vietnam for its outstanding economic achievements, progress in socio-economic growth and the overall development of the country, which has been driven by the Doi Moi (Renewal) policy since about 40 years ago.
Vietnam is admirable in ensuring that national economic development efforts are always associated with people-cantered areas, such as agriculture, tourism, education, healthcare and infrastructure, he stated.
These results are clearly reflected in statistics on GDP, exports, infrastructure development, business growth, macroeconomic parameters and social indicators.

He hailed that the entire leadership, businesses and people of Vietnam have made united, focused and persistent efforts to bring about the country's outstanding success.
Vietnam continues to promote efforts and identify new areas to reach greater achievements, as reflected in the plans for 2030 and the vision for 2045. The country’s strategy to promote the development of a green economy, the fourth industrial revolution, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital transformation and innovation, along with collective determination, shows that Vietnam will continue to go far on its journey of economic growth and development.
Ambassador Sandeep Arya noted with pleasure that India has become a reliable partner of Vietnam over the past seven decades.
Political trust, economic cooperation, joint initiatives for development in agriculture, industry, electricity production and educational cooperation are important elements of bilateral cooperation.
The visits to India by senior Vietnamese leaders, along with important cooperation mechanisms in 2024, have created a premise for India-Vietnam relations to further develop in 2025, he stated.
The two countries share the same orientation, with a focus on investing in the future, as shown through India's Viksit Bharat 2047 (Developed India) vision and Vietnam's 2045 vision.

The two sides can learn from each other's strategies and experiences and build closer cooperative relationships in the fields of economics, trade and investment for mutual development, strengthening each country's position in the international arena.
The two-way trade turnover reached around 15 billion USD, with much room remains for further development as the Indian and Vietnamese economies are growing faster than the global average growth rate and creating more opportunities for businesses of both sides.
In 2025, once the process of reviewing the ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA) is completed, bilateral trade cooperation will become even more favourable.
There is still plenty of room for the two countries to strive to expand investment and business activities, aiming to far exceed Indian’s current investment in Vietnam of over 2 billion USD. Indian companies operating in Vietnam have expressed their aspiration to expand their business operations in the coming time.
The focus of both India and Vietnam is investing in high technology, renewable energy, information technology, electric vehicles, minerals, and infrastructure, which is certain to promote supply chain links and greater trade cooperation between the two economies.
The service industries also have the potential to become more important for the development of both sides. At the same time, other industries, such as finance-banking, maritime and aviation, are attracting more attention in bilateral cooperation.
India has become a reliable partner of Vietnam over the past seven decades.
With the success of highly skilled Indian human resources around the world, the Ambassador believes that education and training can become a larger pillar of cooperation, especially in fields such as engineering, technology, science, business, management and languages.
He reported that about 250 Vietnamese experts and scholars participate in Indian-sponsored courses and training each year.
According to the diplomat, tourism is also a prominent area that has seen positive growth in recent years, thanks to increased direct flights, with about 60 flights per week, as well as more favourable infrastructure in both countries.
The steady growth of tourism flow contributes to both countries, helping bring the people of the two countries closer together.
He concluded that entering 2025 and looking beyond, based on the bright prospects in the fields of trade, investment, economics, high-tech cooperation, India and Vietnam hold many opportunities to continue promoting stronger bilateral cooperation.
