Indian Film Festival 2025

The Embassy of India, Hanoi is holding an Indian Film Festival showcasing four highly acclaimed Indian films with Vietnamese subtitles, spanning diverse genres of Indian cinema. This film festival will take place at the National Cinema Centre, 87 Lang Ha Street, Hanoi, on January 5, 9, 10, and 11, 2025.

Each screening of the following Indian film will offer a unique cinematic experience:

  1. RRR (Tiếng Gầm Tự Do) (RRR)
    Date: Sunday, January 5, 2025 | Time: 14:00 - 17:02
    Short summary: A fictionalized saga of two revolutionaries during India’s colonial era, blending epic action, friendship, drama and patriotism.

Language: Telugu | Subtitle: Vietnamese 

T18 - for viewers 18 years old and above

  1. Tiếng Anh Tiếng Em (English Vinglish)
    Date: Thursday, January 9, 2025 | Time: 19:00 - 21:14
    Short summary: A heartwarming tale of self-discovery of a homemaker wife to learn English language and rediscover her self-esteem.

T13 - for viewers 13 years old and above

  1. Sống chỉ một lần (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara)

    Short summary A transformational road trip of college friends after many years that explores friendship, self-growth and living life to its fullest.

  1. Nữ Đô vật (Dangal)

    Short summary: A drama showcasing a wrestler father’s journey to coach his daughters into becoming world-class wrestlers by overcoming social norms.

The Indian Film Festival seeks to nurture the enduring people-level bonds and socio-cultural connection between India and Vietnam. It builds upon recent film exchanges at the Danang Asian International Film Festival (July 2024) and the 55th International Film Festival of India in Goa, India (November 2024). Separately, India-Vietnam co-production film Love in Vietnam, which saw kick-off in September 2024 in Da Lat is at advanced stage of production is set to release in mid-2025.

India has one of the oldest and the largest film industries globally with the number of movies produced in India ranging from 1500 to 2000 in a year in more than 20 languages. Indian cinema have attracted international attention and acclaim globally. With a global presence, the Indian film industry grossed about 200 billion Indian rupees (USD 2.3 billion) in 2023.

All are welcome to join the screening with family, friends and colleagues for these cinematic experiences, celebrating the timeless affinity and friendship between the people of India and Vietnam.
