Ambassador Pranay Verma addressed a hybrid conference on 4 March 2022 organized by the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City for promotion of Buddhist destination tourism from Vietnam to India. Ambassador reiterated the importance of the shared Buddhist heritage as a strong bond between the two countries and highlighted the promotion of Buddhist tourism as a key focus of the Embassy and the Consulate General of India this year when India and Vietnam are celebrating the 50th anniversary of Diplomatic Relations and the
#AzadiKaAmritMahotsav.
The conference titled “Bodh Gaya - A Spiritual Journey” saw participation of more than a hundred stakeholders including senior officials of India’s Ministry of Tourism, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Tourism Bihar, Bodh Gaya Temple Management Committee, Buddhist experts and scholars, and several travel and tour operators from India and Vietnam.
Đại sứ Pranay Verma đã phát biểu tại hội thảo trực tuyến do Tổng Lãnh sự quán Ấn Độ tại Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh tổ chức nhằm quảng bá du lịch điểm đến Phật giáo từ Việt Nam đến Ấn Độ vào ngày 4 tháng 3 năm 2022. Đại sứ nhắc lại tầm quan trọng của di sản Phật giáo chung như một sợi dây gắn kết bền chặt giữa hai nước và nhấn mạnh việc xúc tiến du lịch Phật giáo là trọng tâm của Đại sứ quán và Tổng lãnh sự quán Ấn Độ trong năm nay khi Ấn Độ và Việt Nam kỷ niệm 50 năm thiết lập quan hệ ngoại giao và 75 năm Ngày Độc lập Ấn Độ (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav).
Sự kiện mang tên “Bodh Gaya - Hành trình tâm linh” có sự tham gia của hơn một trăm bên liên quan bao gồm các quan chức cấp cao của Bộ Du lịch Ấn Độ, Tổng cục Du lịch Việt Nam, Cơ quan Du lịch bang Bihar, Ủy ban Quản lý Đền Bodh Gaya, các chuyên gia và học giả Phật giáo, và một số các nhà điều hành du lịch và lữ hành từ Ấn Độ và Việt Nam.
