As part of the commemorative events to mark the #GandhiJayanti, the ongoing 75th anniversary year of India’s Independence and the upcoming 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Vietnam, Ambassador Pranay Verma visited Yen Bai province for a Tree Planting Ceremony on 2nd October 2021. A total of 125 Giang Huong trees (Pterocarpus Macrocarpus Kurs) were planted.
Ambassador described the tree plantation as a symbol of India-Vietnam friendship for generations to witness and a mark of collaboration between the two countries for protection of environment that will also contribute to Government of Vietnam’s “Green Vietnam Initiative” of planting one billion trees by 2025.

#GandhiJayanti, đang diễn ra Lễ kỷ niệm 75 năm Ngày Độc lập của Ấn Độ và Kỷ niệm 50 năm Ngày thiết lập quan hệ ngoại giao giữa Ấn Độ và Việt Nam, Đại sứ Pranay Verma đã đến thăm tỉnh Yên Bái để dự Lễ Trồng cây vào ngày 2 Tháng 10 năm 2021. Tổng số 125 cây Giáng Hương (tên khoa học là Pterocarpus Macrocarpus Kurs) đã được trồng.
Đại sứ mô tả việc trồng cây là biểu tượng của tình hữu nghị Việt Nam - Ấn Độ để nhiều thế hệ chứng kiến và là dấu ấn của sự hợp tác giữa hai nước trong việc bảo vệ môi trường và cũng sẽ đóng góp vào Sáng kiến "Vì một Việt Nam xanh" của Chính phủ Việt Nam về việc trồng một tỷ cây xanh vào năm 2025.
